At the end of the eight hour session responsible for a fair potion of this music, Qasim Naqvi asked for some breathing room to build with Mister Akan and Tia Nicole Leak. We gratefully obliged. Months later Qasim was asked to paint with acoustic piano strings over his drumming. Morgan then packed shattered glass into the mix. Qasim was the seated at the Fender Rhodes. Mister Akan whipped out his Lind 6 airbrush. Think Sanctuary from Bitches Brew. That’s what I hear Morgan hinting at around 7:16, even if he doesn’t. Race memory once gain real up on it’s long-range haunches.
